planting the future

Friday 28 July 2006, School Tree Day (Tara Anglican School)

Koala Tree Landscape had the privilege of planting trees with the girls from Tara Anglican School, who came out to Western Sydney International Dragway (WSID) where they were welcomed by Marcus Zorich and Jim Reed. Teachers Darren Brett, Bruce Comerford and Bronwyn Walters accompanied the girls.

The group did extremely well planting over 250 trees in a space of a few hours just out front of the main administration building at WSID. Before they started Marcus and the girls discussed the importance of the trees, and how these trees will benefit WSID, the environment and our Koalas.

Koala Tree Landscape was assisted by Rosa from Planet Ark, who came out and showed the girls the techniques on how to plant tube stock trees. Kennards Hire organised and supplied the equipment needed for the day. Thanks go to Kennards Hire and Daniell, Peter and Alex at Wetherill Park. Thanks again to Keith from St John Volunteer First Aid Services in Blacktown. The support from local business is overwhelming. Thanks goes to Michael from Worldwide Printing in Penrith, and Nick and Michael from "The Good Soil" who provided transport of much needed mulch, The mulch was donated by Pac Dirt and our thanks go to Mark Richardson from Pac Dirt as seen in the picture above.
The aim of Koala Tree Landscapes is to raise community awareness around conservation of Australian flora and fauna with a particular focus on the welfare of Koalas. As such Koala Tree Landscape has established themselves as the advisor on Koala Dietary Specialist.
